Paignton 2009 Critique

PD (1) 1 BD, Draper’s Stag Ranger at Meneghy, promising puppy with a decent outline, good long well balanced head with good eye, decent neck & through the front, good backend & when he got going really went with soundness & scope, has enough type & even though he was very far from mature he fitted the Standard to a higher degree than the other two males entered.

JD (1) 1 Southcott’s Kingrock Ben Romach, this young dog at the moment is all arms & legs which is a quite understandable situation given his teen age. Head has reasonable balance but is slightly strong in backskull. He could be stronger in front. Decent depth & ribbing & strong over the loin. A little too wide at the withers. Moved out well if a shade unco-ordinated.

PGD (1) 1 RBD, Seymour-Jackson’s Ghiltan Hero, mature male. Lacks the scope in outline I was looking for & didn’t have the extension in front. Decent depth & ribbing, nice curve over the croup, put on a steady performance & is sound.

OD (0).

PB (2) Two very typy puppies. 1 BP & BOB, Draper’s Bradleyabbi Shamo at Meneghy, good shape & outline, lovely head & expression, good neck, nice front, promise of good ribbing, sound & scopy on the move, nowhere near ready for top honours but she filled my eye more than any other exhibit on the day; 2 Southcott’s Bradley Abbi Ardenner, still very much a baby, she has a lot of maturing to do but shows type & promise, reasonable scope on the move although she doesn’t have the shoulder of 1.

JB (1) 1 Draper’s Killoeter Orra at Meneghy, pretty head & expression with lovely small rose ears, decent neck, nice outline & shape, moved out well with enough scope. Tail maybe a shade high set, decent backend.

PGB (4,2) 1 RBB, Bye’s Jamalison Anthem, good shape & outline, good head shape but would prefer a darker eye. Lovely rose ears, sound through the front & has scope on the move, well muscled, correct hindquarters; 2 Draper’s Bunkham Bella at Meneghy, younger & much less together, decent head & eye. Ear could be tighter. Front & ribbing OK. Not as strong on the move as 1.

OB (1) 1 Gomm’s Canerikie Cookie Crusher to Wildtor, mature bitch, decent shape & outline with correct drooping backend. A little wide in front. Head is a little plain. Didn’t put much effort into moving.
